Family Guy
Family Guy is an American animated television sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a dysfunctional family consisting of parents Peter and Lois; their children Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their pet dog Brian. The show uses frequent cutaway gags, often in the form of tangential vignettes which parody American culture.

Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda or La Joconde) is a 16th century portrait painted in oil on a poplar panel by Leonardo da Vinci during the Italian Renaissance. The work is owned by the Government of France and is on the wall in the Louvre in Paris, France with the title Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo. It is perhaps the most famous and iconic painting in the world. The painting is a half-length portrait and depicts a woman whose expression is often described as enigmatic. The ambiguity of the sitter's expression, the monumentality of the half-figure composition, and the subtle modeling of forms and atmospheric illusionism were novel qualities that have contributed to the painting's continuing fascination. It is probably the most famous painting that has ever been stolen from the Louvre and recovered. Few other works of art have been subject to as much scrutiny, study, mythologizing, and parody. A charcoal and graphite study of the Mona Lisa attributed to Leonardo is in the Hyde Collection, in Glens Falls, NY.

Christmas!!!
Christmas is the best time of the year. It is the time to be with your family and create new memories. Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual holiday celebrated on December 25 that commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. The date of commemoration is not known to be Jesus' actual birthday, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either a historical Roman festival or the winter solstice. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.

History of UWG
From its humble beginnings as an agricultural and mechanical school in 1906 to a leading university, the University of West Georgia has a history rich with knowledge and growth.
The Fourth District Agricultural and Mechanical School in Carrollton opened its doors in response to a call for “more realistic educational programs for rural youth” ages 13-21. With the site of the former Bonner Plantation chosen as a location, 110 pupils enrolled in 1908.
As time changed, so did the educational priorities of Georgia and the nation. By 1933, seven of the A&M schools abandoned their missions, and a decision was made to abolish the remaining A&M schools.
Despite the change, the Fourth District Agricultural and Mechanical School was chosen later that year to become West Georgia College, a two-year institution of higher learning.
The evolution continued when West Georgia became a four-year institution in 1957. At that time, 589 students were enrolled. By 1971, enrollment had increased to over 6,000 students. Just seven years after West Georgia received University status, fall enrollment topped 10,000.
Artist in Society
There is not near enough favorable emphasis put on art today. It is a way of expressing emotions in a positive way. It is somewhat theraputic, a way of letting out excess thoughts and helps to process them. Beauty is a very important aspect in life, and to capture it in an art form is very spectacular. People's emotions are stimulated from observing art work. It can also landmark someone's life at crucial points
Art can take many forms, painting, crafts, and sculpture. It can tell things about periods in time, relaying what went on, doing it in a way that nothing else could display it or imitate it. Through art we have gained knowledge of times long ago, what the style of dress, the way they looked, and what the terrain looked like. It is a way of comparing the present time period with that of another. Some things have been captured by art, that might not have been otherwise recorded so vividly. If things were positive or negative in a certain time period. It was a way of recording it too for history. It also relays emotions of time periods, happiness, sadness, despair, life style, what types of architecture, mode of dress, and sometimes even the types of fruit indigenous of what particular time period. If there were activities going on, was it positive did the whole area take part in it? Was the area affluent or were they poor? Were there uprisings going on, political unrest, and were wars waged? Some artists can depict all of this with such realism it is remarkable.
Art and Film
US photographer and filmmaker Man Ray (pictured here in 1934) was part of the Dadaist "cinema pur" film movement, which influenced the development of art film.
An art film (also called “art cinema”, “art movie”" or “art house film”) is typically a serious, noncommercial, independently made film or a foreign language film that may have these qualities, but may have been made by a major company in its home territory and achieved popular success. It may thus be aimed at a niche audience, rather than a mass audience, or the use of subtitles in foreign language films may limit audience appeal.

Film is art!
THE COLOR PURPLE
The Color Purple is a very sad and somewhat disturbing movie that focuses mainly on the struggles between gender, class, and race. I really enjoyed this movie. I liked how even though it was very sad and conflicting, there still was comic relief where the audience could relax and enjoy the humor of the characters. One of the biggest issues, if not the biggest, was the issue of class struggle in the film.

Fashion is culture because...
Culture is demonstrated through behaviors, beliefs, and other aspects of human thought that are transmitted through generations and individually expressed. “Sociologists aggress that many aspects of our culture are expressed and transmitted through art, music, and clothing fashions.” The lifestyle changes and works of art that influence a culture as a whole are known as popular culture. Popular culture is what defines the current trends and up to date clothing styles that are “in”. Conforming to these trends is what is considered “fashionable” and “modern”. These trends are created by designers and implemented by what celebrities and models wear. And although this is what is considered “popular” to our culture as a whole it does not mean that if you chose not to become a slave to popular fashion that you can not still express your own personal cultural identity through fashion. Fashion and what we wear defines who we are and what we value as an individual. Every time we buy a piece of clothing and put it together in an outfit that we wear, we are making a fashion statement and demonstrating our own cultural identity. We may not choose to identify with pop culture but we are still defining ourselves as a person.
Public Art
Public art properly refers to works of art in any media that has been planned and executed with the specific intention of being sited or staged in the physical public domain, usually outside and accessible to all. The term is especially significant within the art world, amongst curators, commissioning bodies and practitioners of public art, to whom it signifies a particular working practice, often with implications of site specificity, community involvement and collaboration. The term is sometimes also applied to include any art which is exhibited in a public space including publicly accessible buildings.

LIFE IS FINE
I went down to the river,
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank.
I came up once and hollered!
I came up twice and cried!
If that water hadn't a-been so cold
I might've sunk and died.
But it was Cold in that water! It was cold!
I took the elevator
Sixteen floors above the ground.
I thought about my baby
And thought I would jump down.
I stood there and I hollered!
I stood there and I cried!
If it hadn't a-been so high
I might've jumped and died.
But it was High up there! It was high!
So since I'm still here livin',
I guess I will live on.
I could've died for love--
But for livin' I was born
Though you may hear me holler,
And you may see me cry--
I'll be dogged, sweet baby,
If you gonna see me die.
Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!

ME
i stay true to myself
i can't please everyone else
my life is in my hands
blaming people for things i cant change
is not the way to be
i see
time and time again
that we are so divided
we can never win...

Human behavior
Human behavior is the collection of behaviors exhibited by human beings and influenced by culture, attitudes, emotions, values, ethics, authority, rapport, hypnosis, persuasion, coercion and/or genetics. The behavior of people (and other organisms or even mechanisms) falls within a range with some behavior being common, some unusual, some acceptable, and some outside acceptable limits. In sociology, behavior is considered as having no meaning, being not directed at other people and thus is the most basic human action. Behavior should not be mistaken with social behavior, which is more advanced action, as
Human Nature
Human Condition
The human condition refers to the distinctive features of human existence. As finite and mortal entities, there are series of features that are common to most human lives, and some that are inevitable for all. These features and the human response to them constitute the human condition. However, understanding the precise nature and scope of what is meant by the term "human condition" is itself a philosophical problem.
FaShiOn AS art!
Fashion refers to a prevailing mode of expression, whether it be custom, style of dress, speech, or other. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole. More specifically, Fashion denotes a prevailing style of dress.Styles in clothing have been used throughout history to allow the wearers to express emotion or solidarity with other people. Fashion is seen as a display of individuality; a person's fashion gives the world around them an idea of who they are. Fashion has been used as an indicator of social class or social status, or as a gauge of how attuned they are to the popular trends of the time.
I know what art is!
I could tell you that art plays a large part in making our lives infinitely rich. Imagine, just for a minute, a world without art! (You may think "So what?", but please consider the impact that lack of graphics would have on your favorite video game.) Art stimulates different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. Art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. For some people, art is the entire reason they get out of bed in the morning. You could say "Art is something that makes us more thoughtful and well-rounded humans."
On the other hand, art is such a large part of our everyday lives, we hardly even stop to think about it. Look at the desk or table where you are, right this minute. Someone designed that. It is art. Your shoes are art. Your coffee cup is art. All functional design, well done, is art. So, you could say "Art is something that is both functional and (hopefully) aesthetically pleasing to our eyes."

Graffiti BEAT
Graffiti art originated in the late 1960's, and it has been developing ever since. However, it is not readily accepted as being art like those works that are found in a gallery or a museum. It is not strictly denied the status of genuine art because of a lack of form or other base aesthetic elements. Most of the opposition to graffiti art is due to its location and bold, unexpected, and unconventional presentation, but its presentation and often illegal location does not disqualify it as art.

Art education in schools
Always among the highest expression of every culture, the arts teach us much about every historical period through its literature, visual arts, music, dance, and drama. Today it is recognized that to be truly well educated one must not only learn to appreciate the arts, but must have rich opportunities to actively participate in creative work. The arts are languages that most people speak, cutting through individual differences in culture, educational background, and ability. They can bring every subject to life and turn abstractions into concrete reality. Learning through the arts often results in greater academic achievement and higher test scores.

Class Dioramas!
The diorama that taught me something I did not know was the one about the witch killings in Nigeria. I was sad to learn that but some things are out of our control.
The no child left behind diorama was the most creative to me. It looked like she took her time in creating the issue she felt strongly about.
The divorce rate diorama made me think more deeply. My parents have been together a very long time and i would want my children to grow up with two parents the same way i did.
The diorama about the protesting at the funeral kind of upset me. People shouldn't disrespect someone else's death no matter how strongly you feel on the iusse,
The support the war diorama was good and i see we he was coming from but i think the war needs to come to an end.
I felt like the diorama that was about micheal vick and dog fighting was bold. I think we should leave things that were already done in the past. He served his time for the crime. Everyone deserves a second chance and you never know when you might need one.
I felt good being a diorama artist.
To create a piece of art to make people aware of the issue i felt was important made me feel like my voice was being heard through my diorama.
To have people look at my iusse made me pround of myself.
The creating process was fun it made me feel like an artist.

Dance
This dance is so beautiful. It is a piece of art that is expressed through dance. Melissa had breast cancer and she made her dance about her struggle with it.
My Diorama
My diorama is about the issues surrounding the health care plan. People are split on the issue. Some are for it and others are not. I think its important to have good health regardless. The House Energy and Commerce committee has already approved a bill for health care reform and the House is expected to take up the debate after Labor Day. Anti-health care reform protesters are trying to use violence as a way to stop it.
